ABSTRACT
The obesity is a serious health problem causing severe damages to the organism, with a decrease of the hope and quality of life. It is a basic component of the metabolic syndrome, especially the central obesity. It is prevented and treated with changes in the lifestyles including hypocaloric diets and increment of the physical activity. In present paper the main consequences of this chronic illness will be described.
