ABSTRACT
The case of a feminine patient is presented, newly born of appropriate preterm for the gestational age who is born for vaginal childbirth, with the antecedent in the mother of absence of prenatal control and not diagnosed syphilis. It was valued to the later 30 minutes to their childbirth, due to breathing difficulty and injure ampoules in palms and plants. The patient is entered and she is approached initially like a transitory taquipnea of the newly born one and prematurity, but she is suspected in congenital syphilis by what a VDRL is requested. During their stay in the service of Neonatology of the Hospital San Carlos, a test of positive VDRL is detected (32 dilutions) and the positivity of the fraction treponemic antigen, and negativity of cultivations in urine and cerebrospinal fluid; for what parenteral therapy antibiotic begins with sodium Penicillin. At the present time; this pathology is very strange due to the prenatal national systematic application of serologic detection of syphilis. The present article seeks to make the patient’s summary, with its clinical and radiological evolution, and to create conscience on the early detection of women pregnant syphilis carriers.REFERENCES
