ABSTRACT
Henna pigment has the ability to bond to proteins, therefore its use in body art, hair, nails and colouring of textiles such as silk, leather and wool. The global trend has made this temporal tattoo as a fashion in fairs and summer vacation not only in children but in young adults too; it used to be exclusively for religious ceremonies. With growing popularity there has been some reports of allergic reaction to the altered pigment called «Black Henna»; substances that have been added to this pure mixture such as paraphenylenediamine or PPD are responsible for this dermatitis. We report the case of a 10 years old boy and a brief review of the literature.
