ABSTRACT
The presence of thyroid cancer has been reported in 4.8% of acromegalic patients. TSH is important in thyroid carcinoma pathogenesis; nevertheless there are more factors involved such as IGF-I, IGF-II, EGF, Erb-B2, hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/SF, IR, IGF-IR, VEGF. We report two patients with acromegaly who were found to have thyroid nodules that turned out to be papillary carcinoma.
