ABSTRACT
Case report: Female patient of 12 years that suffered proptosis and with left periorbital pain. In computed tomography study was identified a heterogeneous, lateral lesion and posterior to the lateral rectus muscle and made contact with the optic nerve as they enter the optic foramen. The MRI showed a mixed pattern with soft tissue and cystic lesions of high protein content. Surgery was performed with excision of the lesion; lower respiratory tissue was reported, which corresponds to heterotopic tissue, so called choristoma.
