ABSTRACT
Introduction: Thorax Teleradiography (TTx) is the diagnosis exam and the first of imaging that helps to diagnose and control when there is a symptomatic overview of the air respiratory paths.
Objective: To specify clinical approaches that should prevail between the Neumology and Radiology Services of the Medical Specialties Unit (UEM) for the instructions of Thorax radiological studies like Teleradiography and Thorax Computed Tomography.
Material and methods: A study of TC thorax was carried out in a total of 390 cases, from January 2006 to December 2007, in the Pneumology Service of the Military Central Hospital. Of the above, 31 patients were selected for a revision of the radiological studies and used image methods.
Results: The group was formed of 31 patients with ages from 35 to 82, with an average of 58 year-old age. 13 male patients and 18 female were included. Only the biomedical information of 25 patients was available. Of the findings pointed out by the Pneuomology Service only in nine patients, the clinical imprint agreed with the radiological imprint and justifying the CT performance.
Conclusion: The Thorax Xray is one of the complementary explorations that are fundamental for a diagnostic approach under study, playing in turn an important role in the control of the patient’s evolution, as well as in the decisions making on the therapeutical behavior.
