ABSTRACT
At the present time, it is possible the early detection of diseases as cancer, which for a long time has been a public health problem worldwide. It is estimated that between 5 to 10% of all tumors have an hereditary pattern. The advice for hereditary cancer cases is changing the natural history of some of them through the genetic counseling and molecular study of certain syndromes that predispose to this disease and, thus, impacting positively on their morbidity and mortality. The ethical approach is paramount in the care of hereditary cancer, as it focuses on prevention, with the application of individual genetic clear, timely and compelling counseling by the medical geneticist or a committee on bioethics.
