ABSTRACT
The distal radial fractures have been documented and classified since the end of the XVIII century with the works of Poteau, Colles, and Dupuytren. Nevertheless they have always been in search of better most functional and esthetic results. They are frequent fractures and this increase with age, being more common in the feminine gender. The utility of the classification through which they base on the original descriptions and use eponyms up to the most recent such as the AO, are based on the information given for the forecast and the treatment choice. The conventional X rays are imperative for the diagnose, but the CAT Scan and the Magnetic Resonance (MRI) are becoming more and more frequent. Wrist arthroscopy can supply us with under seen information.
