ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the incidence of syndrome HELLP, complications and characteristics of the neoborn one.
Method: Retrospective and descriptive study of 22 patients with diagnosis of syndrome HELLP from January 2008 to January 2009. Atmosphere: Hospital " Joaquina de Rotondaro”, Tinaquillo, Cojedes State.
Results: The incidence was of 0.27% on the total of been born alive in the period of study. The group of predominant age went of 20 to 35 years, (42.11%). 57.90% were pregnancies upon maturity and 42.10% preterms. The diagnosis became in 68.42% during pregnancy and 31.58% in the childbed. The complications represented 31.56%, renal 26.31%, hematological 5.26%. 47.36% presented/displayed HELLP Class I; 26.32% Class II and III, respectively. There were 2 stillborn ones. The rate of fetal mortality was of 0,43X1000. Neonatal deaths were not reported.
Conclusion: It is very important to make a good control prenatal, to prevent and to diagnose precociously the hypertension induced by the pregnancy and to avoid the complications of this disease as it is the HELLP.
