ABSTRACT
Herpetic keratitis is an infectious disease of viral etiology and one of the leading causes of corneal opacification (blindness) and cornea transplantation in industrialized countries, reason why it is important to know the existence of this condition as well as the presentation and treatment.
Clinical Case: This case refers to a fouryear old preschool female patient with known diagnosis of atopic dermatitis who consults for bilateral eyelid tumor, which limits the opening of the eye, photophobia, yellowish discharge, foreign body sensation and itching, reason why is evaluated and admitted with the diagnosis of bilateral herpetic keratitis.
Discussion: In this report, a patient with bilateral herpetic keratitis in presented, a rare condition, whith concomitant atopic dermatitis, pathology that surely has direct and indirect effects on the immune system and therefore it is logical to assume its implication in the bilateral presentation, which is reported in the medical literature with an incidence of 3% of all cases.
