ABSTRACT

The Mucocele of the appendix is a patology with low frecuency, estimated in about 0,3 % of theapendicectomies. From the histological point of view, it can be divided in: focal or diffuse hyperplasia of the mucosa, mucinous cystoadenoma and mucinous cystoadenocarcinoma. The clinical picture may have different presentation form such as: acute appendicitis, cecal tumor, abdominal mass, obstruction, urinary, ginecologic, intraabdominal colection or image finding.
