ABSTRACT
Kyrle´s disease is the prototype abnormality of keratinization from the group of perforating dermatoses. It is most commonly seen in adult women. The etiology remains unknown, with probably autosomic dominant heredability. From two varieties, the symptomatic form has been associated with severe complicated diabetes mellitus or marked renal failure in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The typical topography is the lower extremities with ascendent pattern. The morphology is polymorphous with hyperkeratotic, flesh colored, dome-shaped nodules, some coalescence into plaques forming verrucosum surface. The course is generally chronic. The therapeutic response is variable. We consider the case of a 49 yeard old male with favorable response to topical occlusive therapy with keratolytic and emollient agents.
