ABSTRACT
In this study, we evaluate our experience with extravesical re-implantation type Lich-Gregoir without stenting. From january 1997 to november 2006, 215 renal transplantation were performed at our institution, 203 were retrieved by open nephrectomy and 12 were retrieved by cadaver donation. The ureteroneocystostomy type Lich-Gregoir performed without stenting. 4 (1.8%) patients developed urinary leak, applying extravesical re-reimplantation, 2 (0.9%) developed ureteral necrosis applying Boari flap with psoas hitch, 1 (0.46%) developed delayed stenosis and was successfully treated with retrograde balloon dilatation and stenting. All patients with functioning grafts after complications resolved. We conclude that the extravesical reimplantation without stenting is an effective and safe technique in renal transplantation.
