ABSTRACT
65 years-old man presented to the urology service of a specialties hospital with macroscopic with 3 days history gross hematuria and 1 month history of weight loss, who previously studied was diagnosed with left renal tumor cT2 N2 M0 performing radical nephrectomy. Histology confirmed the mass to be renal small neuroendocrine cell carcinoma sinaptophisyn positive.
Extra pulmonary small cell carcinomas are rare and rather malignant with poor respond to chemotherapeutic agents and the prognosis varies considerably. The renal small cell carcinoma is more aggressive and rapidly fatal compared with other histology patterns. Its most important characteristic is the secretors granules in the cell, expressing Bombesyn A, sinaptophysin and calcitonyn. The resent therapeutics considers is multimodal, including radical resection, following radiation and chemotherapy. Exist few information and case reports about small cell renal carcinoma in actual databases.
