ABSTRACT
The skin cancer is the most common cancer. Basal cell carcinomas constitute appro-ximately 80 percent of all nonmelanoma skin cancers. There are several subtypes include nodular or cystic, superficial, morphemic, and pigmented; and occur on at different anatomical locations. Approximately 80% occur on the head and neck. Nodular basal cell carcinoma is the most frequent and it presents as a solitary, red nodule with large telangiectatic vessels, often seen on the face, and slow growing. These cancers can spread deeply to cause great tissues destruction. Sunlight plays a major part in the development of these tumors which appear predominantly on areas of the most frequently exposed skin. There is increased risk with the exposure to ultraviolet radiation, (UVR), over a life time. The treatment depends of individuals characteristics in each person; but in general it has recommended Moh’s micrographic surgery; the overall five year cure rate with Moh’s micrographic surgery has been estimated at 99 % for primary tumors and up to 95 % for recurrent basal cell carcinoma.
