ABSTRACT

We present seven cases of late seromas after mammary augmentation with textured silicone gel: four of them between one and two years, and three cases 7, 10 and 11 years after surgery. All patients had no history of trauma or any other cause that might be associated with seroma. None of them was related to abnormal breast or with ruptured implants. The diagnosis was hypothesized clinically and was confirmed by ultrasound and/or mammographies. In all of the cases the treatment was surgical drainage and capsulectomy; in the two cases of late seromas breast there was implant exchange and anatomic placement position.
