Dental and maxillofacial management emergencies of hospitalized pediatric patients and elective procedures must be judicious and taken seriously in view of the high cost for the family and the hospital; however, if a patient requires hospitalization and it is not done, the adequate function and even his life are at risk.
In a third level institution there is a high demand from patients and they can not be admitted in arbitrary way. In contrast, dental emergency need hospitalization in cases of cardiovascular diseases, neurologic problems, immunosuppression status, because of the hemodynamic risk, a possible respiratory distress, an infection, etc. The aim of this paper is to identify, clinical parameters for hospital admission of children in a third level facility.
