ABSTRACT
Patients with myelomeningocele usually have deformities in the foot characterized by movement limitation of the ankle and subtalar joints, accompanied by muscles flaccidity or spasticity with propioception and sensibility disorders that avoid patient to detect overpressure points during the load bearing that could produce an ulcer under the heel. The most common deformity is calcaneus-valgus feet and its treatment porpoise is to provide a plantigrade support with a less possible stiffness resulting off. To achieve it, extra-articular or triple arthrodesis should be done for bone structures stabilization, and tendon transferences to improve the function. Anyway, most patients will require some orthesis device, but the general aim is to achieve an independent gait.
