ABSTRACT
The present study was undergoing in the Hospital Infantil de México, Federico Gómez, the purpose was known and evaluate the clinic signs and symptoms of temporomandiblular joint (TMJ) disorders like pain and noises, mandibular deviation, traumatic backgrounds, discrepancy between centric relationship (CR) and oclusal relationship (OR), type of dentition, and parafunctional habits. The samples were 150 children from the Orthodontic Service of Hospital Infantil de México, Federico Gómez. It was found that 54.3% were girls and 45.7% were boys, the 78.8 % presented deviation of dental midline, and only 25.2% presented anterior croosbite. The 59.6% presented permanent dentition and 86.8 % were under orthodontic treatment, only 7% presented a greater discrepancy of 2 mm between CR and OR, 11.3% presented pain and 27.2% joint noises, finally, 2% presented gnashing. The statistics of sucking finger habit resulted more significative than the posterior croosbite.
