ABSTRACT
We present the case report of a patient who developed a sinonasal hemangiopericytoma, treated by surgical excision through a lateral rhinotomy. Some aggressive features on pre-operative computed tomography and the complexity of recent changes in the nomenclature for these tumors led to consideration of adjuvant therapy. This group of lesions constitutes a differential diagnosis group of perivascular myoid cells (pericytes). A review of the literature has been reassuring in identifying these tumors as benign, but with reasonably high rate of local recurrence (17%). The treatment of choice is surgical excision with further excisions for local recurrence.
