Non- immune hidrops fetalis. Report of seven cases

ABSTRACT
Nonimmune hidrops fetalis was found in seven cases, rate 1:4200 live births (1995-1997), and in 0.6% of all necropsies (1994-1997). Maternal age averaged X26.7 (15-40) years of age. Full-term birth ocurred in six cases, weighing X 3763.5 (3000-4500)g; ratio of male 3:1; four cases had bad prenatal control. During pregnancy illnesses like maternal urological infection, eclampsia, polyhidramnios, bleeding, premature delivery, or fetal disturbances were found. All cases had cesarean operation delivery, skin edema, and one or more serous cavity effusion. Congenital anomalies were associated in two cases; cardiac abnormality one case; infection (cytomegalovirus) in two cases and no apparent illnesses in two cases. Four children died during first day of life.
