ABSTRACT
Melanoma is a malignancy of melanocytes. Worldwide represents the eighth neoplasia in the general population. In pregnant women is the sixth leading cause of surgery and the third story of malignancy. Actually this group has increased. Risk factors are high levels of estrogen, increased angiogenesis and immunological depression. Diagnosis is made with clinical history and corroboration and tumor stage are carried out with the histopathology, stained with immunohistochemistry and extension studies. Treatment depends on age of onset, topography and clinical variety. The outcome is usually bad, in a short term. We report the case of malignant melanoma in a pregnant woman.
