ABSTRACT
Hemorrhagic shock and encephalopathy syndrome is an acute disease. The outcome is almost fatal or with neurological sequelae. It is a cause of dead in healthy toddlers. It is characterized by shock, coma, seizures, diarrhea/upper respiratory track infection, disseminated intravascular coagulation, anemia, thrombocytopenia liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction and fever.
CLINICAL CASE. 45 days male that began with 39
oC fever. Later, the patient presented seizures, shock, and DIC. Three days later the patient developed metabolic acidosis, multiple organ failure, and died. The autopsy findings were acute tubular necrosis, necrosis of papillary muscle of left ventricle and subpleural, subepicardic petechia.
