ABSTRACT
Introduction: The miofibroblastic inflammatory tumor is a benign pathology, strange and difficulty diagnoses. It present in different organs, the sintomatology is variable and asymptomatic. The lung is the most frequent successive by abdomen. The MIT is uncommon in children.
Case report: Eight years male, refereed with diagnoses of hemolytic anemia and abdominal mass. Initiate with paleness, asthenia, hiporexia, fever, and loss weight. Bring in whit epigastric tumor about 4x4 cm and anemia. We think a probable lymphoma, by ultrasound, sample radiographies and computed tomography. We realize a biopsy by aspiration with slight needle without diagnoses y we decide operate. It found a gastric tumor white-pinkness, as big as 8x10 cm, it take a biopsy. Histopathology diagnoses miofibroblastic inflammatory tumor. We make endoscopies and show invasion to the mucosa a new episode of anemia. We realize other laparotomy with complete resection and partial gastrectomy (30%). The child is asymptomatic with 17 moths follow up and ultrasound normal.
Conclusions: Is very important think in this neoplasia to evit radical surgery and unnecessary radiotherapy and quimioterapy, the conservative surgery is sufficient as treatment in the majority of the cases.
