ABSTRACT

Introduction: Colon atresia is a rare cause of bowel obstruction in the neonatal period. This work describes a rare cause of bowel obstruction in our hospital.
Clinical case 1: Newborn with neonatal obstruction, laparotomy discovered colonic atresia type III, resection, tappering, anastomosis
Clinical case 2: Newborn with intestinal obstruction, laparotomy colonic atresia type III, resection, tapering, anastomosis.
Clinical case 3: Newborn with fecaloid vomit, abdominal distension, absence of stools intestinal, laparotomy: colonic atresia type III, anastomosis.
Discussion: Colonic atresia is rare, its clinical presentation is similar to every type of low bowel obstruction. The surgical treatment is resection of the bowel with terminal-terminal anastomosis. Nervous system alterations must be rule out, such as Hirschsprung disease because it can be associated with colonic atresia.
