ABSTRACT
Introduction: The hepatic biopsy is the gold standard to stablish the diagnosis in the illness of the liver, there are a lot of methods to take one hepatic biopsy and each one of them could be have some complications.
We evaluate the quality in the hepatic biopsy take it with electrocautery and ultrasonic dissector for laparoscopy in pediatric patients with illness of the liver.
Materials and Methods: We take 2 hepatic biopsy by laparoscopic surgery, one with electrocautery and other with ultrasonic dissector for every one of the 11 patients that curses with illness of the liver in a third level hospital between january 2004 to june 2004.
Results: The median age was 9 years old. We found no stadistical differences between the burning lesion do it with both dissectors.
Conclutions: The hepatic biopsy take it by laparoscopic surgery using the electrocautery and ultrasonic dissector have the same utility to determine the etiologic diagnosis in pediatric patients with illness of the liver.
