ABSTRACT
Spinal epidural lipomatosis without evidence of neural tube defect is not a frequent problem. This is more likely to occur associated with chronic steroid ingestion, severe obesity and hormonal disturbances. Adult idiopathic epidural lipomatosis has been reported in some case reports. We are presenting a case of a child in whom the presence of an epidural lipoma conditioned compression of the dural sleeve and lumbosacral roots with subsequent radicular manifestations. Neural tube defect was not demonstrated, no steroid intake was referred as part of previous treatments and hormonally he was considered normal.
