Violent bullying. The enemy among friends

ABSTRACT
Introduction. Bullying is a form of aggression in which one or more children repeatedly and intentionally intimidate, harass or physically harm a victim who is perceived as unable to defend herself or himself.Case report. 9-year old male patient who sustained an abdominal (mesogastrium) blow from schoolmate which resulted in a left renal rupture. A laparotomy revealed a left renal rupture and large peri-renal hematoma. The patient developed renovascular hypertension.
Discussion. After a blunt impact on the abdomen, physical examination, ultrasound and computerized tomography are mandatory since associated renal malformations are common.
Conclusions. This is the first case of “bullying” reported in our country which required surgical treatment.
