ABSTRACT
Poor results in the surgical treatment of glenohumeral instability are due to wrong or incomplete diagnosis with a consequent inadequate technique performance. Generally, these failures can be grouped into: insufficient patch, and overcorrection. The first one are manifested by persistence of the instability secondary to an incomplete diagnosis or persistence of pain, particularly in patients over 40 years, almost always by omission in the diagnosis of a rotator cuff damage. The overcorrection are more frequently associated with technical errors, that usually cause early arthropathy.
