ABSTRACT
Crossed renal ectopia (CRE), was first described by Pannorlus in 1654. Its incidence is 1 in 75,000 autopsies. The anomaly consists in a transposition of one kidney to the opposite side; and the ureter crosses the midline to insert in its normal position in the bladder. A high incidence of associated abnormalities has been reported. We report a case with unfused kidneys in crossed renal ectopia associated to vesicoureteral reflux, ureterocele and anorectal malformation. Embryologic development of CRE is not clearly understood. Computerized tomography scan and ultrasound have been used to diagnose CRE. The aim of the treatment is to preserve the renal function and to correct associated anomalies.
