ABSTRACT
Introduction: Urethral aneurysmal dilatation, is an uncommon complication. It is a bulge in the ventral side of the penis which restricts bladder voiding with post-voiding dribbling. The embryopathogenesis is not clear in congenital cases. Surgical treatment of long-term urethral catheterization and trauma, are the most common etiologic factors for the acquired diverticula. Voiding cystourethrography, or positive pressure urethrography are the most common imaging diagnostic studies. The only sign in this case was increase of volume in dorsal part of the penis. Treatment is always surgical. Traditional treatment consists in an urethroplasty, with the excess tissue resection. Pseudospongioplasty is a surgical option which provides additional mechanical support to the urethra, by using spongiosum tissue flaps. We report a one year old male with a urethral diverticulum, secondary to a long-term urethral catheterization. Genesis, diagnosis and treatment are analysed; literature review was done.
