ABSTRACT
As the pregnancy advances, the renal function presents changes in the anatomical structure and physiological function and the successful term pregnancy depends on the conjunction of different physiological factors. During the pregnancy, the renal pathologies increase perinatal morbility and mortality. The peritoneal dialysis (PD) is a temporally treatment; but this must be early and opportune, with the objective of recovery the renal function. The importance of the nursing care and the adequate management of peritoneal dialysis, will improve the quality of nursing care of the patients with renal failure and will contribute to reduce maternal morbidity and perinatal morbidity and mortality.
