A study was performed in order to find the average cefalometrical values of a population whose characteristics came closest to an occlusion and the "ideal" face characteristics. The sample conformed 45 young people (26 women and 18 men) of 18 to 25 years of age, of a population of the northwest of Mexico (Tepic, Nayarit). A lateral x-ray was taken from their skull to create a cephalometric drawing with measurements taken from the analysis from Bjork-Jarabak, Steiner, Downs, Schwarz and Tweed. Once obtained the average values they were compared with the norms established in the different cephalometric analyses as well as with reported average values in similar studies performed in other regions from Mexico. One was that the average values of the studied population differ in significant form with those from the established norms. However, the values reported in other studies of different Mexican cities are very similar. The main cephalometric characteristics found were: previous projection of maxillary mainly the superior with tendency to class II esqueletal, direction of growth in sense in opposition to the small hands of the clock, proinclination and protrusion to dentoalveolar of the incisors superiors and inferiors.
