ABSTRACT
To describe the biochemical profile in patients of the group of self-help in Diabetes Mellitus type 2. A cross sectional study in the total patients belonged to the group of self-help (n=50). Were obtained data of glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides of last the six months, as well as the number of measurements made them. The age average were 57.8 years, female with 92% predominated. 66% it completes the exercise and 18% did not attend programmed talks. 50% I present obesity (BMI › 30); an average of 152.6 mg/dl., 211.5 mg/dl. and 183.96 mg/dl for central glycaemia, cholesterol and triglycerides respectively. Even belonging to a group of self-help, the serum levels stay by above of the recommended, that suggests a interrelation between the patient and the equipment of health and bigger participation, as well as a suitable diffusion and promotion of these groups.
