ABSTRACT

A 38 year old male with diagnostic of type B Stanford and Bakey III aortic dissection, was treated with thoracic-abdominal endoprosthesis and general anesthesia, we suggest the use of this technique because of better control of anxiety, hemodynamics and mechanic ventilation of the patient, reduce the risk of spinal cord injury. This risk increase with the use of antiagregants and anticoagulants use in the presurgical time and in immediate postoperatory time. The endovascular technique is a new therapeutic choice for those patients in high risk of death due to a conventional surgical procedure because of coexistent diseases and high surgical risk (ASA II-IV). This procedure diminishes the length of hospital stay and comorbidity.
