ABSTRACT
Background: Dyslipidemia is the alteration of blood lipid levels, either by an elevation of cholesterol or triglycerides. This lipid disorder is considered major vascular risk factors that predispose certain diseases such as preeclampsia.
Objective: To determine the behavior of lipids in women has one year after having presented preeclampsia.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study; we evaluated 60 women to twelve months of obstetrical care and who had preeclampsia syndrome. Each patient underwent a questionnaire with demographic data and personal history. Anthropometric data were measured, blood pressure and blood sample was obtained in fasting for the measurement of biochemical variables (lipid profile).
Results: The signs and symptoms (headache, tinnitus, epigastric pain, right upper quadrant pain, vomiting, hyper, spontaneous ecchymosis) disappeared, only two patients report occasional headache as the service were channeled to rule out neurological a pattern of migraines. In relation to signs specifically blood pressure five of them were classified as chronic hypertension. The anthropometric parameters, more than eighty percent are with a body mass index of 33.3. In relation to laboratory studies, as the cornerstone of this study, we have that the cholesterol and triglyceride levels remained elevated to a year after obstetric and biochemical parameters of glucose and uric acid were within normal parameters.
Conclusions: The frequency of dyslipidemia in patients with a history of severe preeclampsia than one year after childbirth was 10%. The distribution of fat and the blood pressure was altered a year after the obstetric event, the behavior of Lipid (cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL) are factors that change over time and could determine the medium-term metabolic syndrome.
