ABSTRACT
Pseudotrombocitopenia unrecognized entity with an incidence of 0.09% to 1.9%. (1) It is secondary to the aggregation of platelets in vitro mediated by antibodies that can be EDTA or citrate dependent or both. It is a phenomenon caused by auto platelet antibodies that behave like cold agglutinins EDTA dependent. Antibodies are usually IgG (IgG1 subclasses, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4) although both have been described as IgA IgM antibodies directed against the complex glycoprotein IIb / IIIa of the platelet membrane. It has been associated with sepsis, cancer, cardiac surgery and drugs.
