ABSTRACT
Several risk factors predispose patients to nosocomial infections. Pneumonia is the most frequently hospital acquired infection and the most important considering its high morbidity and mortality. In order to reduce the possibility of wrong diagnosis, laboratory and microbiology analysis in addition to physical and radiographic examination must be performed. We have to reduce risk factors, make local infection control measures such as a routine surveillance of pathogens, timely diagnosis and therapeutic strategies.
This review provides a current review on epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and therapeutic approach.
