ABSTRACT
Systemic arterial hypertension, diabetes and obesity are worldwide health problems, they can be found alone or as part of the metabolic syndrome, which can be accompanied by dysfunction in lipid metabolism and insulin resistance, and eventually by other diseases. They, by themselves, increase the risk of systemic vascular disease, and together the morbidity and mortality risks in severe vascular cerebral and cardiac diseases. Today we have enough information to detect these problems during childhood and adolescence so we can adopt real preventive measures in order to improve life quality, life time and decrease vascular disease in our patients.
