Ligadura de arterias hipogástricas, una cirugía heroica para evitar la mortalidad en ginecoobstetricia

ABSTRACT

Objective: To report our experience in both hypogastric arteriae ligation in emergency surgery in obstetrics and a prophylactically. Methods: A study showing the experience of two hospitals where they handled 44 cases of hypogastric arteriae ligation in the period January 2006 to December 2009. Results: A mean age of 37 years, with 27 cases of gynecologic surgery and 17 obstetric showing that the bleeding has controlled them and the low rate of complications which were resolved with supportive measures. Conclusions: The knowing and mastering the technique of hypogastric arteriae ligation does make this a therapeutic tool in the fight against maternal mortality secondary to bleeding.
