ABSTRACT
Folliculitis barbae candidomycetica is a very rare infection. Although many predisposing factors have been cited, most cases occur in healthy individuals. We present a case of folliculitis barbae candidomycetica in a 41-year-old healthy man, successfully treated with itraconazole during 4 weeks. We suggest in this patient it could be a sexually transmitted infection due to orogenital contact.
