ABSTRACT
Acquired zinc deficiency is a syndrome definied for a triad: dermatitis, diarrhoea and alopecia plus low plasma zinc level. Dermatologic examination revealed vesicles, blisters and pustules predominantly in periorificial and acral regions. A rapid clinical response will occur, with complete healing of lesions due to administration of a zinc preparation.
A 20 years old woman, with typical skin lesions and low plasma zinc level, due to TPN (Total Parenterl Nutrition) in association with Crohn’s disease is reported. The knowledge of this syndrome and its diagnosis lead, through integrative therapy, to its resolution in a short time.
