ABSTRACT

Sinusitis, defined as an inflammatory disease of the paranasal sinus, is one of the illnesses with higher prevalence and incidence in the general population especially among children, besides of being one of the causes more common for medical assistance. Its multifactorial aetiology and the increase of the microbial resistance to antibiotics specially a natural and synthetic penicillin. It suggests to reconsider the anatomical and functional fundaments with the purpose of establishing reasonable conducts of diagnostic, medical and surgical therapeutic that allows a satisfactory diagnostic and treatment for the patient and the physician.
