Allergic conjunctivitis

ABSTRACT

The allergic conjunctivitis is a suffering characterized by the ocular inflammation of the conjunctive and it is caused by different causes: pollens, dust mites, mushrooms, and it is exacerbated by the smoke of tobacco, chemical vapors, solvents, use of contact eyeglasseses and environmental polution. Clinically is expressed by conjunctival hyperemia, pruritus, lacrimation and photophobia. Their presentation can be seasonal or perennial. In the phisiopatology participate phenomenons that involve cellular immunity and humoral immunity. It is reported, in this paper, the incidence in our geographical area, as well as their relationship with other allergic entities. Resources exist for their treatment like it is the immunotherapy, besides preventive drugs of recent appearance.
