ABSTRACT

Otitis media is an inflammation of the middle ear, and a common problem of childhood. Acute otitis media and its different outcome; the factors implicated in the pathogenesis and in persistent infection; and the incriminated agents, sequela and complications are described. Conservative and surgical approaches are mentioned. Control of predisposing factors and prophylactic vaccines are usefulness in good control and prevention.
