ABSTRACT
This essay tries to give to all the society, professionals and organizations related to Food Security and Nutrition, informations that apply theoretic concepts of the topic to the specific conditions and trajectory of Brazil. A document that works as study source, debate, critics, suggestions and enhancement source in order to support current moments that may become the years of great social transformations of the country. The essay starts with a brief description of the general characteristics of the country. Then, considerations related to the availability(analyzing main foods of production and exportation), consumption (analyzing under an anthropological focus the effects of the food gobalization and data of "Pesquisas de Orcamento y Despesa Familiar"), and biochemical and anthropometric data (analyzing different surveys and investigations) according to Food Security. Continue considerations on causes of Food Insecurity in Brazil and feeding vulnerable groups. Both of them are analyzed under two perspectives. Referred to causes the first perspective goes to data of scientific literature related to different components of Food Security, and the second perspective is focused on risk classification of FAO. For the vulnerable groups, the first perspective gives data related to poverty and the second perspective talks about criteria for the classification of vulnerable groups of FAO. It is important to mention that, for both cases, the perspectives referred to as second are personal criteria of the authors since there is not information of this kind in scientific literature.
