ABSTRACT
From its introduction to the American Continent in 1985 Aedes albopictus
(Skuse) has been distributed in 678 municipalities of 25 states of the American Union. It was introduced from Malaysia. Recently has been located in 866 cities of 26 states of the United States. This species is an important plague in the states of the Southeastern of the United States.
Aedes albopictus is an important vector of several virus like Japanese Encefalitis, River Ross and Western Nile, besides it was found in some countries of Centro and South America. In Mexico
Ae. albopictus has been distinguished as vector of the virus of dengue and its present distribution occupy the states of Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Chiapas.
