ABSTRACT
The Lateral humeral condylar fractures are the second more frequent in children and 54 per cent of all growth plate injuries. There are two production mechanisms described: by uprooting and «push». The diagnosis is hampered by the changes occurred in the elbow during its development and also for the difficulty to evaluate this injury by the X ray, so it can therefore be unnoticed. Their treatment requires an anatomical reduction and when fractured segment is separated more than 2 mm from its origin, it must be fixated with two wires or with one screw. Avascular necrosis and the form of «fish spooling» epiphysis deformity are mentioned as complications.
