Use of moxidectin in the treatment of internal and external parasites in animals.

ABSTRACT

The aim of the present review was to present up-to-date information of moxidectin. Its chemical composition, pharmacodinamics, safety, persistance, dosification and type of presentation is described. The use of moxidectin to treat internal and external parasites in sheep, goats, equine, cattle, swine, dogs, deer and red deer are also reported, in studies carried out by different authors. It is concluded that moxidectin is highly effective in the treatment of nematodes and arthropods in animals.
