ABSTRACT
Donor hemovigilance is part of biovigilance and includes transplantation of tissues, organs and hematopoietic stem cells; the risk of complication related to blood donation is low and occur in about 1% of all donations; of these two-thirds are vasovagal reactions and one third are local injuries; hematoma is the most common local complication. The final goal is to increase safety of blood donors and recipients of blood components.
